During the spraying or drying process of the paint film, the surface of topcoat sometimes appears a phenomenon of wrinkles or shrinkage. What is going on?
1. Improper drying methods lead to uneven drying of the paint surface. If the newly sprayed paint layer is dried or forced dry too quickly, or if the paint shop temperature is too high, the paint on the surface dries faster, which will delay the drying of the inner paint. When the inner layer of paint dries, the surface paint will shrink. Avoid spraying car paint in workshops with inappropriate temperatures or in workshops with large temperature changes.
2. The surface to be painted is not cleaned with a degreaser cloth before spraying auto paint, causing the surface to wrinkle due to not being absorbed by the paint.
3. The paint is not mixed thoroughly or too thick.
4. Unmatched thinners are used or the paint quality is too poor.
5. If the paint layer is sprayed too thickly or too wet, will prevent the inner layer of paint from releasing solvent and drying at the same rate as the outer layer of paint, and the paint will appear shrinkage and wrinkles. The method of multiple spraying should be used.
