Correct spraying method of bumper
The front bumper of the car body was hit by stones on the highway; as a result, the varnish layer and the silver powder layer were forcibly peeled off from the primer, showing mottled paint peeling phenomenon. This is a typical example of poor varnish adhesion often complained happening at car repair stations.
In fact, this involves a key subject in the research of automotive coatings-stone strike resistance. Usually car owners simply pursue the high hardness of the car paint, thinking that as long as the car paint has a high hardness, it can withstand the impact and scratches of sand and gravel, but they don't know that things will develop in the opposite direction when they become extreme, so hard things are bound to be brittle. When there is a car driving in high way, the impact force of a small sand on the ground hits the front bumper is very powerful. If the varnish is too brittle, or the metal paint is too loose, or the adhesion of the primer is not good, all will cause this kind of paint-off phenomenon.
Therefore, in order to avoid the front bumper varnish peeling off as much as possible, we recommend that you should pay attention to the repairing notes:
Extra fast drying clear coat can be chose to use for the repair of a small area of the bumper, otherwise it should be avoided as much as possible;
About 10% softener should be added to the primer and varnish when the bumper is repaired;
Give priority to using plastic primer when replacing new parts;
Adding 10% hardener to the silver paint can greatly improve the inter-layer adhesion of the paint film, which is more obvious in cold weather;
Do not wait too long to spray varnish after the silver paint is sprayed;
Do not spray the silver paint too thickly.
