The steps of mixing paint:
A. Determine the color,
1. Find the body color code;
2. Compare with the color card, find the position of the color on the color card and the reference formula;
3. Write out the actual toning formula according to actual needs. (Be sure to choose the color masterbatch accurately)
B. Pour the main color masterbatch or finished paint into a clean container on the electronic scale and record the weight of the paint (remember: after placing the empty container on the electronic scale, it must be reset to 0 before adding Color masterbatch).
C. Add the required color masterbatch according to the formula. Since everyone has a different understanding of the color that needs to be adjusted, it is recommended to start fine-tuning from the color attribute that has the biggest difference.
1. Only a small amount of color masterbatch can be added for each fine-tuning (no more than 1-5% of the amount in the original formula);
2. It is best to use only one color masterbatch for each fine-tuning;
3. Record the amount of color masterbatch added each time to form a formula that you can master and use, and lay the foundation for future paint adjustments.
D. When the matching degree between the paint color and the original color board reaches about 90%, compare the spraying small color board with the original color board
1. Use a small iron plate to test spray and achieve complete coverage. Pay special attention to the air pressure and the amount of solvent. Sometimes you can get a color very close to the original color plate by adjusting the air pressure or solvent;
2. If the primary color board is a two-step or three-step process, it needs to be overpainted. It is best to spray varnish on the small color board. After the paint is dried, use tape to leave about 3 cm at the bottom of the color board without spraying the varnish in order to carry out the two-step process. To compare the colors of different effects, remember to refer to the actual effect of the varnish;
3. When adjusting the solid color paint, make it lighter before the spray plate. When adjusting the silver powder and pearl paint, it is a little darker than the original color board, so that the sprayed effect can be consistent with the original color board. This kind of depth must be practiced repeatedly and explored to master it. It should be particularly emphasized here that when mixing champagne and light yellow silver paint with transparent iron yellow (iron red) masterbatch, the paint must be slightly yellower than the original car color.
4. When spraying the board, spray twice with mist first, blow dry after about 10 minutes, and then wet spray once; spray the plain paint, do not spray too thick each time, to prevent the phenomenon of sagging.
5. Re-measure the color. If you need to do further fine-tuning, you must determine which attribute to adjust: hue, chroma or chromaticity.
F. If the colors have been matched, accurately record the toning formula, and keep the sprayed swatches for future reference.
