What is the main component of car paint ?
There are generally 4 basic components: film-forming substances (resins), pigments (including extender pigments), solvents and additives.
1.The film-forming substance is the main component of the paint. Its function is to keep the pigment bright, durable and adhere to the surface of the object easily. It determines the type of paint.
Resins include natural resins, artificial resins, and synthetic resins, which are usually adjusted by adding plasticizers and catalysts to improve their durability, adhesion, erosion resistance, wear resistance, and toughness.
2. Pigment is one of the non-volatile substances in the paint, which gives the topcoat color and durability, and at the same time makes the paint have hiding power, improves fluidity and coating performance.
3. The solvent is the volatile component of the paint, which can fully dissolve the resin in the paint film, so that the paint can be applied normally.
High-quality solvents can improve the spread ability and film characteristics of topcoats, enhance gloss, reduce paint texture, thereby reducing polishing efforts and facilitating more accurate color matching.
4. Additives are less by the changes at latest time.
Although the proportion does not exceed 5%, they play an important role.
There are hardeners that speed drying and enhance gloss, coagulants that slow drying, matting agents that reduce gloss,
