Because some technicians are not very experienced, it is easy to cause some small defects on the paint surface during repairing the cars. For example, after spraying car paint, the repaired area has a subsidence of the paint surface, and the surface of the topcoat forms a lake-like appearance, why does this happen? And how to solve it?
Cause Analysis:
1. When spraying multiple layers of paint, the previous paint layer is not dry completely;
2. Putty sinking, because it is not easy to find when spraying a low-gloss primer, but when spraying a high-gloss and high-brightness topcoat, could find the paint surface sinking phenomenon easily;
3. Multiple layers of paint were applied in a short period of time, and the drying time between coats was too short.
Precaution and Correction Method:
A. All putty layers need to be dry completely, especially in rainy days or low temperature;
B. Do not spray the primer and topcoat thickly at one time, control the drying time between layers according to the requirements;
C. Do not dry the paint with air blowing, because this may cause the surface to dry only, and the solvent inside the paint film cannot be completely evaporated;
D. When the paint film sinks in the repaired area, it is recommended to polish the surface until it is smooth and then re-spray.
