1. What’s 1k basecoat?
1K basecoat is a one-component basecoat, which is mainly formed by the volatilization of the solvent to form a film.

2. What’s 2k topcoat?
2K topcoat is a two-component basecoat, which is mainly composed of a component A hardener and a component B resin. It must be mixed in accordance with the proportion, so that it can react chemically, and then achieve the effect of curing into a film and drying. The 2K color system of automotive refinish paint mainly includes 2K solid paint, 2K varnish, epoxy primer and 2K primer surfacer. It is required to have good fullness and gloss, the paint film should be firm, and the weather resistance should be great.
3. What’s the difference between 1k color system and 2k color system?
We use the 1K color system for the primer and color paint layer. As the first process of repairing the car paint, it must be sprayed with 2K varnish after drying. Should be noted that it is generally mixed 1k color paint with thinner.
While the color of the car refinish paint adjusted by the 2K system can be directly used for the topcoat, and there is no need to spray varnish to cover it. When spraying, the construction can be carried out according to the process of mixing 2k color paint + hardener + thinner.
