2. putty
Recessed areas of the body can be filled and leveled with putty. This operation can be done in a single work step or in several work steps with fine or coarse putty. After completion, the putty needs to be sanded.
3. Filler primer
Filler primers allow the layers to adhere to each other, ensuring the durability of the paint system. It also smooths out small depressions and ensures that the substrate is evenly smooth, protecting the paint from the impact of sand and gravel. Filler primers also create a high-quality topcoat appearance.
4. Top coat/primer
The topcoat is the layer of the paint system that attracts the attention of the outside world. It provides color, gloss and special effects. It can be a gloss system (solid color) or a basecoat/clearcoat system. In addition, to get the right color, the topcoat can also be composed of several colors of paint finish. In addition to its visual properties, topcoats are also used to resist external influences such as weather, environment and scratches.
5. Varnish
A varnish as a final coat protects the entire topcoat from external influences such as wind, weather or car wash brushes. The use of varnish also enables the finish to have the desired gloss level - from high gloss to matte.
