In the process of automotive paint spraying, we will often encounter many problems, such as orange peel-like and grapefruit-like wrinkles are one of the common problems. Topwings Chemical Coating Co., Ltd. stated that this is mainly caused by the inability to flow among the atomized fine paint particles and poor in bonding when they reach the paint surface. The specific causes are as follows:
1. Improper dilution ratio resulting in too high viscosity and poor leveling.
2. Use improper or weak thinner, or the thinner dries too quickly.
3. The ambient temperature is too high, and the paint has lost a lot of solvent when it reaches the paint surface, resulting in poor leveling.
4. Spray gun adjustment or technical error: if the spraying distance is too far or too close, the coating is sprayed too thick or too thin, it will cause the paint surface to flow poorly; or the spraying air pressure is too high or too low, If the pressure is too low, the paint atomization is not fine enough, so that it becomes granular and forms grapefruit peel when the paint reaches the surface of the car body; if the air pressure is too high, the paint will wrinkle.
5. The unevenness of the primer will cause the topcoat to have poor leveling lookin like orange peel.
6. The drying time is too short, the leveling time of the paint layer is insufficient, and it enters the baking room too early.
