The adhesion of auto paint is mainly reflected in two aspects, one is the adhesion of the primer to the substrate, and the other is the connection between coatings. So if adhesion is poor, it’s usually because:
1. The surface of the sprayed parts has not been cleaned thoroughly, leaving residues such as oil, fat, wax, rust, etc.;
2. The substrate is not polished or is not polished sufficiently;
3. Failure to select a suitable primer according to the substrate;
4. The waiting time between spraying coatings is too short and does not have enough time to evaporate;
5. The paint concentration is too thick;
6. The thickness of the coatings and the spraying method will also affect the adhesion of the paint.
In order to avoid this problem, the substrate needs to be thoroughly cleaned before spraying, and a suitable primer should be selected according to the substrate, such as plastic primer, 1k primer, 2k primer, epoxy primer, etc., then according to the manufacturer's technical instructions to spray, don't forget to leave sufficient evaporation time.
