Paint Spray Defects - Paint Sinking:
The patched area is sunken and the topcoat surface creates a "lake" shaped appearance.
(1) Causes:
① When spraying multiple layers of paint, the previous layer of paint is not dry enough.
② The putty sinks, but it is not easy to be found when spraying a low-gloss primer, but when spraying a high-gloss topcoat, the paint surface sinks.
③Multiple layers of wet paint are sprayed in a short period of time, and the rest time between the primer and topcoat is not long enough.
(2) Correction method
①All putty layers should be completely dry, especially when the weather is bad or the temperature is low.
② Do not thickly coat the wet paint film of primer and topcoat, and control the resting time between layers according to the requirements.
③ Do not dry the surface of the wet paint film by blowing, because this may cause only the surface to dry, and the solvent inside the paint film cannot be completely volatilized.
④ When the paint film sinks, polish to a smooth surface and then re-spray.
