During the daily usage of the cars, it is inevitable to encounter car paint peeling, rust or other types of body damage. At this time, it involves the work of car paint repair. If you want to touch up the paint to make it look like new, you can't just spray a new coat of paint over the old coat directly. Repainting is actually a relatively complicated process, for example, it involves sanding the paint surface to ensure it is smooth, so it is recommended to be handled by someone who has experience in automotive paint spraying. So what are the general steps of operation?
Use a cleaning cloth dampened with degreaser to wipe the surface of the workpiece, and immediately dry it with another dry cleaning cloth. Make sure to remove all wax, grease and other forms of contamination from old paint;
Cover all surfaces and panels of the car with a waterproof cloth, masking tape, or other material that completely covers these repaired areas;
Remove all rust on the surface, repair all dents on the panel;
Sand any remaining paint on this panel. Sand the surface until the old paint is smooth and there are no rough areas. If the topcoat of the paint is peeling, remove all paint from the panel;
Spray the surface with a primer layer. Apply the primer to the entire surface and, after drying, sand it with a suitable sandpaper and sander to smooth the primer and remove any sheen, thereby sealing the primer;
Check carefully to make sure the surface is completely clean and dry, and all unfinished surfaces are covered, then use a spray gun to apply a color paint layer. Wet spray 2 or 3 layers, leaving 5-10 minutes between each layer to evaporate and dry;
Apply a clear coat after the new 1k basecoat layer has dried, waiting 5-10 minutes between coats to allow the previous coat to dry.
