A. Characteristics of epoxy primer
Epoxy primer is a primer made of epoxy resin as the main film-forming substance. Epoxy primer has strong adhesion, tough and durable paint film, and has strong adhesion to many surfaces, but the paint has poor light resistance and is easy to chalking, so it is only suitable for primer.
For vehicles that require high paint surface quality or are used in hot and humid environments, epoxy primer should generally be used for paint surface repair. As cars are often subjected to relatively strong impacts, vibrations, and paint surface wear, as well as various weather conditions, acid, alkali, and salt erosion, the car body needs a good protective layer to resist. When the car surface needs to be refurbished, the epoxy primer is the best choice. The epoxy primer has outstanding adhesion, corrosion resistance, sealing, chemical resistance and alkali resistance, and the paint film has good flexibility and high hardness. Besides, it has great adhesion to substrates including aluminum-magnesium alloys, light metals, steel and glass fiber reinforced plastics etc.
B. Construction of epoxy primer
Suitable for dust-free, oil-free, wax-free, rust-free, and water-free substrates, as well as bare metal surfaces (steel, iron, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel sheet) and glass fiber reinforced plastic surfaces with allowable roughness for painting.
The two-component epoxy primer is mainly sprayed, but it can also be applied by brush.
Strictly refer to the manufacturer's requirements to mix the epoxy primer and epoxy hardener (our requirement is 4:1), and use them within the mixing life; when the spray viscosity needs to be adjusted, it is best to use the epoxy thinner provided by the supplier.
