The brightness and DOI (distinctness of image) of the car varnish film are the clarity of the projected scene on the surface of the paint film, which is mainly related to the smoothness and gloss of the varnish. It is used to represent one of the decorative properties of the paint film appearance. Poor DOI means poor decoration of the paint film. It could be told by visual inspection or by measuring with special instruments.
So what are the reasons for the lack of brightness and poor DOI when spraying clear coat layer?
1. The primer or color paint layer is too rough and not flat enough. Need to be careful when sanding.
2. The quality of the varnish is not good, the leveling performance is poor, and the paint itself has poor gloss.
3. The painting environment is not good, resulting in particles and poor gloss on the surface of the paint film.
4. The atomization of the spray gun is not good, and the orange peel pattern of the varnish film is too heavy.
5. The varnish layer is too thin and the fullness is poor when spraying.
